BEATING THE OFFICE CONUNDRUM
WHO WANTS TO WORK IN
SUMMER?
Am guessing a sea of erratically waving hands is highly unlikely. But let’s face it, for those of us who have already returned from our summer escapades and are back to the reality of the office, the prospect of getting geared up for yet another meeting can leave you cold and uninspired.
All those tantalizing wafty dresses, floral prints, airy caftans and sheer cover ups sadly don't gel with highly ventilated offices, and are frankly rather bewildering for even the most open minded colleagues and clients alike. So as much as I would like to saunter in with cut-off shorts and slip on sandals and call it a day, the realities of professional life cloy annoyingly and hey, we need to adapt.
In the spirit of resuming adult professional life whilst resisting the temptation of the default summer office attire of "pants and whatever", I thought it would be worthwhile to spruce up the work wardrobe in a manner that at least puts one's hard earned summer tan front and center.
Just because you are no longer on vacation, doesn't mean you should not look like you came from one.
Here are a couple of looks that whilst not designed for basking in azure colored waters with an Aeprol spritz in tow, would not look out of place at a cocktail bar entertaining post-work drinks for the high powered and influential hard hitters like yourselves. Yes, a little bit of self-delusion never hurts, especially when ensconced in afore mentioned tan that just adds a certain level of smugness to any situation.
Sicilian 60's inspired Mediterranean glamour with a hip hugging pencil skirt and Brando-esque ruched up sleeves that mean business. Dramatic flair for women with too much to do and not enough time to do it.
This white skirt is ace. Served straight up it means business - deep pockets and all. Snide commentary on Basquait’s naif graffiti art and its relevance within the current vernacular is the perfect sound byte to accompany the look.
